With his third album Street Music, Defari takes it back to the streets as his rhymes take it back to the old school hip-hop when it was all about the everyday struggle (instead of the materialistic achievements and video vixens).

With some production help from Evidence, Alchemist, DJ Babu, E-Swift and Mike City, his street
conscious vibes and hard-hitting beats make this album a true
testament of what hip-hop used to be and should be today. When
conceptualizing the new album, Defari attributes his fans for guiding
him as they voiced their opinions on how they thought his last album,
Focused Daily, was his best work.
He starts off the album with “Hardworker,” which is what he thinks is the core song of the album. The rest of the tracks have somewhat of a similar backbone beat to them, which makes the album sort of repetitive if it wasn’t for his street conscious lyrics. His song “West West” is in his words “the new West Coast anthem. “Period” is one of the best songs on the album given its true representation of the region.
If you’re into socially conscious hip-hop with hard beats, then Defari’s Street Music is what should be bangin’ on your stereo. But if you’re more into soulful, upbeat conscious hip-hop, a la Common, Defari would be too urban for you.
