Rapping about hot models, designer clothing, drugs, and guns is just not considered original anymore. Neither is bragging about being a hustler, gangsta, and knowing “killers and dealers,” especially when Main Flow has absolutely nothing of any importance to declare. In “The Re-Up” Main Flow raps, “Well there’s Gucci, Prada, or Fendi suits/We keep it major and still clock that Indie loot.” Money, hoes, cars, and drugs are all his lyrics are reduced to. So what keeps the album together? Without a doubt, 7L is the super glue. “Where I’m From” and “Permission To Speak” are the only tracks where Main Flow is not as in-your-face with his usual banter of vanity.Otherwise, search far and wide for the instrumentals to Flow Season. If you must, pick-up the album just to enjoy some soothing beats. And definitely check-out 7L and Esoteric’s A New Dope which is available in stores. Download: “Where I’m From” “Permission to Speak”
