While Legend's Get Lifted debut was steeped in the recognizable theme of neo-soul, his latest offers a virtual feast of flavors for your hungry earhole.

Pop tunes grounded in soul, R&B, funk and soft rock all contribute to the genreless beauty of Once Again. Mouth watering lead single "Save Room" acts as the perfect introduction to the set's new millennium vibe while the sunny funk guitar in "Slow Dance" (produced by Will.I.Am) shamelessly pimps 70's soul doo wop as the the tune showcases Legend at his best - a lecherous gentleman, passionately edgy, and perfectly backed up by Motown-esque "la la la la's."

Hip-hop puctuated "Another Again," echoes the quiet storm power of "Again," as the haunting Raphael Saadiq-produced "Show Me" glides smoother than a sleek new yatch floating on a sea of melted chocolate, totally excusing (or perhaps justifying) the more-than-slightly cheesy "P.D.A. (We Just Don't Care)." "Maxine" manifests the full blown, bossa nova-kissed lounge music we always knew the Philadelphia native to be capable of freaking, and boy does he, chasing it with the gorgeously timeless "Where Did My Baby Go" (a sure bet for future American standard status) before launching into a sinfully retro-soul drenched "Maxine's Interlude" tying up a satisfying trilogy.

Just when you thought you had Legend pegged he surprises with the courageousness strewn throughout Once Again, huge in its depth and unexpected in its scope. Cop.
