In the wake of his tirade against George W. Bush last year, Kanye West has become known for being outspoken, so it was almost par for the course when the rapper threw a fit after not winning the Best Video prize last night at the MTV Europe Music Awards.
The Chicago native bumrushed the stage as the winners of the award, Justice and Simian ("We Are Your Friends"), were being presented with the award for which West's "Touch the Sky" was also nominated.
Cursing into the microphone and ranting that the clip should have won because it "cost a million dollars" and "Pamela Anderson was in it," the artist lived up to his crybaby reputation.
"I was jumping across canyons," he complained. "If I don't win, the awards show loses credibility."
West did, however, win the Best Hip-Hop award earlier in the evening.
In addition to West's fit, Gnarls Barkley won Best Song for "Crazy," while a surprised Rihanna scored the Best R&B award. The show, split between two venues, was hosted by Kelis (on the Copenhagen's main square stage) and Justin Timberlake (on the indoor convention hall stage) who won two awards.
Snoop Dogg was among the night's performers, and presenters included Fat Joe, Cassie and British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen of Da Ali G show.
