R&B Soul reviews As the title, and Ciara herself, suggests, the Atlanta entertainer's sophomore set sees her stepping up a level in terms of her music. We see the "princess of crunk-n-b morph into the queen of crunk-n-b.

But in terms of singing and writing ability the songstress is sorely lacking. Thankfully, a lack of competition in the crunk-n-b arena, as well as her amazing dance skills make up for her shortcomings.

Much like the entertainer she's most compared to, Janet Jackson, she manages to whisper her way throughout a set layered with brilliantly produced beats from mentor Lil Jon, as well as fellow production heavyweights Pharrell, Jazze Pha, Will.i.am, Dallas Austin, and Rodney Jerkins.

Tunes like “Get Up” and “My Love” are great for getting the party going while “That’s Right” featuring Lil’ Jon is almost guaranteed to fire up the club and are worthy as a follow-up to her party-infested double-platinum 2004 debut Goodies. The bonus DVD featuring the sexy, athletic dance routines for "Get Up" and "Promise" are highly entertaining and show Ciara in her element.
