Michael Jackson spent 2006 in exile from the U.S., but now he and his three children have become residents of Las Vegas... just in time to ring in the New Year.
E Online.com reports that the King of Pop moved to Las Vegas the day after Godfather of Soul, James Brown, died of congestive heart failure.
On December 26, Jackson and his brood took up residence in a gated Spanish-style mansion on the west side of Las Vegas. "Yes, he's here, and yes, we're working on projects. But we're not willing to disclose anything," confirmed businessman Jack Wishna to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Since the move, rumors surfaced that the King Of Pop is planning an ongoing Vegas gig, ala Celine Dion. Referring to the reclusive megastar as "one of the greatest entertainers in the world," Wishna said Jackson "is poised to return to the top of the entertainment world soon." Current Vegas performers include Prince who recently opened his own club, 3121, which has successfully stayed busy with performances by the Purple One as well as worldclass entertainers such as Chaka Khan. Khan will replace the late James Brown for a New Year's Eve gig at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. |
