hip-hop reviews Barely-adult pop-rapper Bow Wow desperately wants to deal with adult subject matter, but for some reason his latest set The Price Of Fame, falls between the buttcrack of juvenile and mature.

Waxing poetic-like on middle-of-the-road fare such as "Outta My System" and "Tell Me" the Ohio rapper talks about losing Ciara's love. When it's not sounding flavorless The Price Of Fame reeks of snap bandwagon ho-hum ("Don't Know Bout That") or pointless, psuedo-gangsta swagger ("Don't Know Bout That").

"Shortie Like Mine," featuring Chris Brown proved to be a bouncy smash, but, in spite of the production skills of Jermaine Dupri (sounding as if he must have been asleep in the control booth), the rest of the album fades quickly into the realm of the forgettable.

Fortunately, Bow Wow has enough self confidence to convince the young ladies that he's a viable talent, and with five albums in the can he might have convinced himself, too.
