R&B/Hip-hop charts this week: U.S.D.A. ice the charts, Rihanna's got it all covered and KRS-One and Marley Marl take us back to the old school.
This week sees the charts ruled by the rapper formerly known as the "snowman." Young Jeezy, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw, otherwise known as U.S.D.A., hit the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (as well as the Top Rap Albums list) with their Cold Summer: The Authorized Mixtape. Featuring the underground hit "White Girl" and the track "Corporate Thuggin’," the set's a raw album is, according to Jeezy, for the streets.
Debuting right behind at No. 2 is Survival Of The Fittest from Lil Boosie, Webbie & Foxx. The Trill family release features appearances from rappers such as Big Head, 3 Deep, Souljah Boy, Phat, Shell and others.
Coming in at No. 8 are hip-hop legends KRS-One & Marley Marl with Hip Hop Lives. The old school puts it down with the title track where KRS breaks down the letters in hip-hop, and, as always, takes it all to a new level. |
