Definitely up to the challenge of following up uber-lauded, Kanye West-helmed Be, Common returns with another strong, insightful offering that lives up to the expectations of fans.
The Detroit native's seventh set, Finding Forever, finds him once again produced by West with whom he continues a worthy partnership evident in the driving track, "Start The Show." Meanwhile, "Misunderstood" featuring Bilal, and "The People" featuring Dwele see the veteran emcee embrace his soulful disposition, while "Break My Heart" and "Start The Show" are the mark of an artist who'll last well after all the flash in the pan rappers have disappeared. Including production from Will.I.Am and the late J Dilla, the set is a must have for any fan of mature hip-hop music.
