Career

Trina debuted in 1998 on Slip-N-Slide label mate Trick Daddy's "Nann Nigga". [1] Her first two albums, the certified gold debut album Da Baddest Bitch (2000) and the certified gold follow up Diamond Princess (2002) focused on the raw and raunchy style that made her famous, followed by the Glamorest Life in 2005.

Miami rapper named Trick Daddy asked Trina to recite a verse on his debut and in 1998, that track, "Nann Nigga", ended up being the first single of his www.thug.com album. The single became a hit reaching No. 3 on the Rap Charts. Thanks to the success of the single, Trina gained popularity and got a deal with Slip-N-Side/Atlantic Records.

Da Baddest Biach and Diamond Princess era

In March of 2000, Trina's debut album Da Baddest Bitch was released. The album entered the Billboard Chart at No. 33, and eventually sold more than million copies in the US alone. The album's lead single, also titled "Da Baddest Bitch" underperformed but the following single, "Pull Over", became one of Trina's biggest hits.

The next two years she spent time with Missy Elliot developing her second album.[1] On 27 August 2002 Trina released her second album Diamond Princess in USA.[5] The album spawned three singles, including "No Panties", which became Trina's first release outside of the U.S and the hit song B R Right featuring Ludacris.

Glamorest Life era

Her third studio album titled Glamorest Life was released 4 October 2005,[6] it charted at #11 on the Billboard Albums.[7] The album featured her highest charting single to date. Here We Go which featured Destiny's Child singer Kelly Rowland, being her highest charting single to date, with a peak position of #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs and was her first single to chart outside of America.[8]

During 2007 Trina released two mixtapes, Rock Starr: The Baddest Bitch Reloaded (December 2006) and Rockstarr Royalty: The Mixtape (June 2007)

2008 - Present: Still Da Baddest

In 2007 Trina revealed she was working on a new album. On 1 April 2008 Trina released Still Da Baddest after it was pushed back originally being planned to be released on 12 February.[9]

The album debuted at number 1 to mostly positive reviews on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at number 6 on the The Billboard 200, her highest position ever, with sales of 47,000[10][11] the first week. This album was a turn around from her disappointment in her album Glamorest Life.[1]
