History

Kidz in the Hall is a rap duo formed in 2000 who specialize in a brand of hip hop sometimes referred to as "hipster rap"[3]

Naledge and Double-0 met in 2000 during a talent show at the University of Pennsylvania. [1]. They began recording songs, making demos, and performing at local shows. That eventually led to Double-0 and Naledge forming Kidz In The Hall. Double-0 eventually made a connection with Just Blaze. Blaze aligned himself with the duo and oversaw "School Was My Hustle". Kidz in the Hall signed a group deal with Rawkus Records, and released their debut album School Was My Hustle in 2006.

In November of 2007, Kidz in the Hall were officially signed to Duck Down Records, an independent label started by founding members of the Boot Camp Clik. The duo's most recent album, "The In Crowd", was released in May of 2008, on lead single "Drivin' Down the Block," which samples Masta Ace's song "Born to Roll" for the hook and contains an interpolation of Outkast's "Elevators (Me & You)" on the bridge. Many other tracks on the album use samples and interpolations of early 1990's hip hop, including their song "Snob Hop" featuring Camp Lo which uses the hook fromBlack Sheep's song "Flava Of the Month" for the chorus.

Fight in Tempe, AZ

On July 26th, after a show at the Cherry Lounge & Pit in Tempe, Arizona, an altercation took place between Double-O and one of the Cherry Lounge bouncers. According to witnesses, after Double-O subdued the bouncer, several more of the bar's security became involved. A cameraman who had been hired to record the performance was able to catch a portion of the incident on video, which apparently shows the bouncers ganging up on Double-O, and at one point even pulling the DJ's hands away from defending his face so they could continue to punch him. Both Double-O and Naledge were arrested, and Double-O charged with Assault and Disorderly Conduct. Arraignment was to take place on August 5th, but it was postponed, possibly due to the fact that Double-O required intensive surgery to repair a broken eye socket sustained during the attack.[4]
