Kurtis BlowKurtis Blow schooled us about "The Breaks" back in the day, and now, in the new millennium, he's getting ready to take folks to Sunday school.

The hip-hop pioneer is bringing his popular church service to television. Titled "Hip Hop Church America," the show witnesses Blow wearing the hats of host, DJ, MC and worship leader just as he has been for the past several years at Hood Memorial Church in Harlem.

Besides the skills of the outspoken emcee, the show also features hip-hop music, breakdancing, a choir and a different guest artist each week.

The one hour program is currently in development with California-based The Machine Productions, a multi-media entertainment company committed to Christian entertainment.

"I'm thrilled to be part of this new cutting edge cultural phenomenon called Hip Hop church," says Michael Reynolds, CEO and co-founder of TMP. "Unlike anything on television, this program will, in a positive way, reach the hearts and souls of America's young people."
