Days after his Best of Both Worlds tour with R. Kelly was axed,
Jay-Z has re-invented the tour and dubbed it Jay-Z and Friends. The next performance will take place Friday
(Nov. 5) in Miami, where Jay-Z will be joined by P. Diddy and Mary J.
Blige, among others.
A confirmed itinerary for the rest of the tour was not
available at deadline. The Best of Both Worlds trek was due to run
through a Nov. 28 show in Glendale, Arizona, before it fell apart.
The tour was thrown into disarray after repeated shenanigans from Kelly. It culminated on Friday, after Kelly walked off the
stage at New York's Madison Square Garden claiming he'd seen two men in
the audience brandishing guns. Later in the evening, he claims he was
attacked with pepper spray backstage by a member of Jay-Z's entourage.
On Monday, the singer filed a $75 million lawsuit
against Jay-Z for compensatory and punitive damages. Jay-Z completed
the 3-night Madison Square Garden run with no further problems and the assistance of
superstars such as Diddy, Blige, Snoop Dogg, the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams, Kanye West,
Busta Rhymes, Fabolous and Q-Tip.
In an ironic twist, Jay-Z and Kelly's second collaborative album, Unfinished Business, bows this week at No. 1 on The Billboard 200.
