Tweet is slated to release her first album in nearly three years. Set to drop March 22, the 15-track It's Me Again is produced by mentor Missy Elliott who also helmed Tweet's soulful 2002 debut, Southern Hummingbird.
The album's first single "Turn Da Lights Off," features Elliott and has been jumping up Billboard's Hot R&B Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Other guests on the sophomore set include Tweet's 15-year-old daughter Tashawna who performs a duet on "The Two of Us."
"This album is happier," says Tweet. "It's all about being cool with yourself and comfortable in your own skin."
Another hot track track, "Cab Ride," boasts a sample of the theme music from the classic sitcom "Taxi."
"If you’re as old as I am, there was a TV show with Danny DeVito and we took that music," Tweet quipped at a recent Los Angeles listening party. "I’m the first artist ever to get clearance for it so I’m excited about that. This may be the second single from the album."
The popular Southern Hummingbird peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
