Seminal Philly band The Roots are scheduled to rock the tenth annual V festival taking place August 20 - 21 at Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire.
The festival, sponsored by Virgin Mobile, is already sold out.
"We're still pleasantly reeling at how quickly this year's festival sold out," festival Director Bob Angus commented. "It's been a great start to our 10th anniversary we have a fantastic festival with a very diverse line up and we're not quite finished yet."
The Roots will play the JJB/Puma stage. Other confirmed acts include Joss Stone, Dizzee Rascal, The Chemical Brothers, Maroon 5 and many more.
The first V festival in 1996 was the only event of its kind to be staged at two sites over the same weekend where the artists swap venues overnight. Previous headliners have included Coldplay and Red Hot Chilli Peppers (2003), with featured acts such as James Brown, Macy Gray, Moby, and Kylie Minogue.
