After several years out of the entertainment limelight, Toni Braxton returns to the music scene with her trademark sultriness in her sixth album Libra (in stores September 27). With help from the unparalleled productions skills of Scott Storch and Vincent Herbert, Braxton’s latest shows that her long-term absence has only rejuvenated her sense of timeless soul.
As a six-time Grammy winner, Braxton’s success started with her debut self-titled LP. From then on out, her life went into ascension of success. Along with four more applauded albums and two highly praised Broadway roles (Beauty and the Beast and Aida), her life took an unfortunate turn with a heart ailment called pericarditis. Needless to say, the lovely diva persevered and is back with full force.
Dripping with her trademark soul, her newest is sure to add more notches on her diva belt. The first single off the album, “Trippin’,” is inscribed with her vocal signature and is already making radio stations melt with delight.
So far, Toni Braxton is ready to make her “comeback” very evident. She is set to co-host the Tenth Annual Soul Train Lady Of Soul Awards, do a concert on the Oxygen Network and appear on Live with Regis and Kelly. In any matter, Libra promises to remind us of that R&B songstress that has been put on the same pedestal as Chaka Kahn and Anita Baker.
Libra track listing:
1. Please 2. Finally 3. Trippin' (That's the Way Love Works) 4. What's Good 5. I Wanna Be 6. Shadowless 7. Happily Unhappy 8. Midnite 9. Supposed to Be 10. Take This Ring 11. Suddenly 12. Long Way Home
